I don’t know if you realize this, but I am Mexican-American and I love a good salad and pizza but that doesn’t really go with this story.

Stay with me here. eventually this blog will make sense. (Maybe not today, but someday.)

The point is I bought these massive tortillas the other day and a lady in line behind me said in Spanish, “look at those very big tortillas!” to her friend. Ha! I don’t full on speak Spanish, but I can understand when someone’s judging my food choices

Last night I made a healthy version of the Mexican restaurant style Tostada Salad.

How to Bake Tortilla Shell

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. Spray round oven safe bowl or pie pan with non-stick. place tortilla in pan. Bake for 14-16 minutes or until browned and crispy. Note: These go from ideal to burnt very fast to keep an eye on it!!

Fill with anything you got: lettuce, ground turkey seasoned with chili and spices, veggies, guacamole, shredded cheese, nutella, hot sauce, beans, bubble gum, cilantro…

Breakfast when I got back was the typical – eggs for days, Sriracha and a bagel thin. But, I was craving bagel thicks (aka real bagels) – so I got on that later.

I scored some watermelon on manager’s special and it made my lil day.

And I hit up the bulk bins for a chocolate fix. I’m busted because I used to do this once in a while, but now it’s every time.

I decided I want to eat a bagel before my run tomorrow and hit up the local bagel shop for a really good one. But, I couldn’t decide which one!

Savory or Sweet?

Mindkét. certainly both.

So, I got an everything bagel

and a French toast bagel.

And because I probably shouldn’t eat two bagels before a run I had half of each best away. Elképesztő.

Yesterday when I hit up GNC for a few Quest Bars the sales lady literally exclaimed, “You look that like girl from 90210!” I was second in line so even the girl she was assisting turned around to look at me.

She was adamant that I appeared like Tori Spelling and that “You already know. You should get this every day! You look just like her.”

Ha! I thought it was funny and really random and told my pal who stated she doesn’t see it.

I personally think I look like Zack Galifianakis…

Question: who do people say you look like?

Do I look much more like Tori Spelling or Galifinakis?

Ma este elhagytam néhány csicseriborsóat a salátám végén, és ennek egy nagy, finom harapása…

De – a Trail Mix segítségével az ellenkezőjét csinálom. Kiválasztom az összes kedvencemet, és először megeszem őket. Aztán hagytam egy zacskó gabonafélét, amelyben diófélék, szárított gyümölcsök és egyéb finomságok voltak. Lehurrogás.

Ma este vacsoráztam a világosabb oldalon, nagy salátával és fokhagymás pirítóssal. Azt terveztem, hogy egy fehérje rázza, miközben elveszettnek látom. De végül elvonultam, és mire az elveszett időre véget ért, a korábbi és a fentiekből származó gyümölcs salátám többi részét a Trail keverékről választottam.

A délutáni snackem joghurt volt a gabonafélékkel.

Mennyire egzotikus, tudom … de elvesztettem, hogy mit kell enni, mint A.) magas fehérje és B.) valami, amit szeretek. Egyelőre a joghurt az egyetlen dolog, ami nekem történik. Lehet, hogy elkezdek smoothies készíteni? Nem tom.

Sad to Be better

Today was my last appointment with my Physical Therapist. Lehurrogás. I am happy that I am ready to run again, but sad to stop working with her. She definitely someone I would be pals with in real life ?

But- my running is not the only reason I won’t be working with her anymore. She’s moving back home to Canada!!! It was very fun to talk with her about moving and vegas and other stuff. thank you Lisanne!!!

After Ben got home from work we took a short walk. I wanted him to take a picture of us, but he refused to stop walking so this photo is an action shot of sorts…

Today’s eats where terrific until dinner time. I have made a decision the random snacks I eat that never make it to the blog are my greatest downfall (this includes nighttime eating). So today I vowed to not eat anything outside of Breakfast, Lunch, afternoon Snack and Dinner.

I had my afternoon snack around 4pm and that was my only non-meal eats today!

Well, for dinner all I wanted was snacky foods! My cravings were figured out to snack! I ended up eating popcorn, half a granola bar, a piece of bread…

and a substantial smoothie with chocolate syrup and Cheerios.

I guess snacking is a compulsive habit that I didn’t get out of my system during the day like I usually do. Azta. This really taught me a lot about how deep of a habit the snacking is and considering that I’ve been doing it for so long my body really reacts odd when I stop. pondering this will continue, but I’ll spare you anymore.

7 summer Running suggestions to help you run your best even in the heat and humidity.

Running in hot weather and in humid conditions makes running harder. It’s science. So I’m sharing 7 summer running hacks to help you run better, faster and stronger in these challenging times.

REMINDER – Running in extreme conditions like excessive heat, cold, at altitude – or really any situation that your body isn’t familiar with can be dangerous. Be smart and listen to your body.

If you’re training for a fall half Marathon or full Marathon your training plan probably calls for some high mileage during the hottest months of the year. So it’s essential to be smart and plan for these conditions to run strong. check out these summer running suggestions and let me know which ones you already do (and which ones you need to work on)!

Here are all 7 suggestions – I discuss how to do each one in the video and in the notes below. Some you might be a superstar with already – great! csak így tovább! If you’re not currently doing one though – make sure you work it into your regular summer running routine.

Distance and pace Adjustment

Plan your Runs with the weather forecast

Create a Hydration Strategy

Run somewhere with shade (tree lined path)

Wear light colored, sweat-wicking running clothes

Use a sports sunscreen and apply it smart

Listen to your body and take notes in a Run Log

Instead of running for a certain number of miles at a certain pace – use effort an the guide for your runs in hot weather.

If you don’t have a heart rate monitor use an effort level scale to measure how challenging or easy a run ought to be (instead of using pace).

Check out this post on the how to use the effort level scale for Runners – to learn more.

It’s easy – but you have to do it! check the weather report. use that information as you plan your run week. schedule your hardest runs for the days with the best weather when possible.

Start each run well hydrated. Then, make sure you have a hydration technique for during your run.

Run in the shade when possible. another option may be to run near the water. It’s typically cooler near the beach or a big body of water so if you live within driving distance – consider doing your long run there.

Check in with your body before, during and after each run. note all the things that may have any impact on your running performance. These notes may change depending on the time of year. For example, in hot weather you may have much more chafing or want to note the color of your urine.

I packed Ben as well as myself sandwiches, however he desired fries as well as I took pleasure in some too.

We likewise shared a Pinkberry parfait. It’s fro-yo on the top as well as bottom, fruit as well as granola in the middle.

After landing in SFO we had to drive ourselves 1.5 hours north to Santa Rosa. With the flight delay we didn’t end up getting to the hotel up until after midnight.

This morning I had the greatest runner’s stop working of America.

Ben as well as I were going to take a walk around a regional park. When we got there we saw people were using bibs. It had crossed my mind to inspect if there was a race in town, however I didn’t.

Well, there was a half MARATHON AT THE PARK WE were at (<- that’s me yelling at myself). We asked a few people about it as well as they said, “Well, if you want to run 13 miles…” jokingly. Um, they don’t understand me. I would absolutely do it! It was 5 minutes to begin time as well as I was already hungry so I didn’t do it. however I kicked myself all the time Moral of the story: always inspect to see if there is a race in the town you’re checking out before you travel. After missing a race our walk we hit up whole Foods for breakfast. Surprisingly, this was Ben’s idea. It’s since he believes whatever from the WF bar is incredibly healthy. just since the mac n’ cheese is organic doesn’t indicate it’s great for ya. Then, we had some service to go to for the day. At one point I rode in a golf cart as well as told everybody about my a lot of embarrassing moment since it included a golf cart. have I ever told you people about it?? We broke for lunch around 12:30pm as well as hit up Subway. Ben as well as I spilt a foot long 50-50 or 6 inches–6 inches if you will. I ate a protein bar as well as some peanuts while driving around. The highlight of the day had to be during a random stroll in a park… Some person was walking two dogs that looked precisely like goats. Várjon. Those are goats. I’ve been craving Thai food for weeks as well as lastly got my repair today. There are a great deal of great Thai locations in our neighborhood, however I held off since I understood we’d be eating out all weekend. We discovered a respectable location on Yelp as well as it hit the area Thai salad as a starter. (I drank that peanut sauce after this picture.) I got some veggie / poultry meal that sounded healthy, however came drowned in a lot more peanut sauce. So, I didn’t have to drink that salad dressing besides as well as ended up consuming a gallon of it in this meal. I’ve introduced Ben to eggplant as well as he can’t get enough. Brown rice rice baby. Question: What time is it when you’re made with dinner? Válasz: The had a truly great St. Patty’s Mint flavor that tasted precisely like a Shamrock Shake as well as the sf strawberry was delicious! I was ecstatic about the fruit loops for some odd reason… Thai food as well as frozen yogurt! If I had some pizza as an appetizer this would total my last meal on earth picks. Before last night’s fries I had a truly great week of clean eating. I’ve got to keep chugging beers along. I’m back on the clean eating wagon tomorrow. Köszönöm a játékot.
